Joe and Joan settled in for their customary morning coffee while tuning in to the radio’s weather update.

“The forecast predicts a snowfall of 3 to 5 inches today, coupled with a snow emergency declaration. Cars are to be parked on the odd-numbered street sides,” conveyed the report.

Joe’s response was a casual, “Alright, wow,” as he stood up from his coffee.

The next day found them once again gathered around their morning coffee, with the weather projection declaring, “Anticipate snow accumulation ranging from 2 to 4 inches today. A snow emergency is in effect, necessitating cars to be parked on the even-numbered street sides.”

Joe’s reaction was a nonchalant, “Okay, wow,” as he got up from his coffee.

Fast forward two days, and they were back at their coffee mugs as the weather outlook disclosed, “Expect a snowfall of 6 to 8 inches today, triggering a snow emergency. Instructions for parking your cars are as follows…” Unfortunately, the statement was cut short due to a power outage, leaving Joe without the concluding directions.

Turning to Joan, Joe inquired, “Gee, Joan, what’s the plan now?”

With a reassuring tone, Joan responded, “Oh, Joe, just go ahead and keep the car in the garage today.”

Two immense great white sharks glided through the ocean waters, spotting the fortunate survivors of a sunken ship.

“Come along, my child,” the father shark instructed his offspring. Together, they gracefully approached the cluster of people. The father continued, “Initially, we circle them a few times, allowing only the tips of our fins to peek out.”

And so, they executed the maneuver.

“Exceptional, my son! Now, let’s encircle them once more, this time revealing all of our fins.”

And again, they complied.

“Now, it’s time to feast upon them all.”

Without hesitation, they proceeded to do just that.

Once their bellies were sated, the young shark inquired, “Father, why didn’t we simply consume them all from the start? Why the elaborate circling?”

His wise father replied,

“Because they taste better if you scare the shit out of them first!”
